The steep slope of bronzed bracken remained in deep shadow against a collection of backlit birch trees. A gentle fog was clearing, creating warm glowing atmospheric conditions to enhance the vibrancy of the golden leaves. The composition hinged on the balance of the three slim branches in the top left corner of the composition — ultimately, including them in their entirety added a lovely asymmetrical balance and depth to the photo.
