One of my favourite sections of woodland in the Ancient forest, I had attempted to photograph it for many years coming away with hardly a single portfolio image. However, on this late autumn morning, I found some kind of flow state and finally created this photograph. It was only made possible after I listened to something in my intuition that said "walk deeper into the woods and look back from where you came". Not fifty meters in, I turned back to see this scene backlit in breaking light.
