About the artist

Matthew Sugars ARPS is a photographer based in Warwickshire, specialising in landscape photography of the natural world as well as urban environments.

Matthew’s favourite subjects to photograph are mountains and coastlines. He aims to capture these environments in their best light, often returning to a place several times to get the right conditions for an image. He also photographs architecture and cityscapes, mainly working in black-and-white to emphasise the shapes and textures of the buildings.

Matthew creates his photographs using both digital and film techniques. He also still produces black-and-white prints at home in his traditional darkroom.

Matthew is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society, the world’s oldest and most prestigious photographic association.

Photographs are available from Photiq as limited edition prints (edition size 15). These are printed on fine art archival paper, each numbered edition print is signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
