I create photographic artworks that translate fleeting encounters with light, place, and natural form into something more enduring. My focus is atmosphere and colour; elements I draw out through a process of careful layering and refinement, both in-camera and in post-production. Working with blend modes, I build complexity and depth before printing with archival pigment inks on fine art paper, finishing selected works with metal leaf to add surface texture and material richness.

I am consistently drawn to subjects that offer space for interpretation rather than straightforward representation. The garden scenes and botanical studies in this exhibition reflect a longstanding fascination with natural form; with the way light catches a leaf, the way a branch holds colour, or the way a garden can feel both specific and universal at once. Venice runs alongside as a continuing thread; its characteristic stillness and that particular quality of light filtered through mist, a place where impermanence feels almost tangible, and where mood and memory are never far apart.

A background in History of Art and many years working in interior design underpin my approach, particularly in relation to colour and materiality, and the way art inhabits a space. I work with handmarbled papers, which I make myself and integrate digitally into my compositions, allowing traditional craft and contemporary image-making to sit together in a way that adds tactility and depth. Colour runs as a constant thread throughout my work, carefully considered in every piece.

Each piece is made to earn its place in a room, to reward time spent with it, and to hold something of the feeling that made me stop and look in the first place. I hope they spark a memory, a moment of recognition, or simply a smile.
