Andrew Kerr Chedham’s Yard Photography Exhibition
Chedham’s Yard
Photography by Andrew Kerr
Exhibition 5th – 23rd December 2020
With the 200th anniversary of the establishment of Thomas Chedham’s blacksmith’s and wheelwright’s yard in Wellesbourne approaching, we are holding an exhibition of rarely seen photographs of the yard by Andrew Kerr from Saturday 5th December to Friday 18th December.
Chedham’s Yard served the local community from the early 1820’s to the mid-1960’s. The doors were then closed and remained locked, the contents untouched, until 2005 when Andrew was one of the first through the doors.
Prior to its restoration, he spent many hours capturing the yard as it was, ivy growing through the roof, cobwebs over workbenches and tools, light filtering through broken windows.
The yard has been a visitor and education centre since 2009, but very few people have seen it unrestored – this exhibition allows visitors to enter a time capsule of rural English life.
Photographs are available from PHOTIQ as limited edition prints (edition size 15). These are printed on fine art archival paper, each numbered edition print is signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Prints available from £95
